Imagine yourself, surrounded by your supportive family and friends. You're well fueled. Motivated. Determined. You've already made an incredible difference in your community and you haven't even started yet.

The Cycle of Life Tour will take you on an unforgettable cycle touring experience through the beautiful Sannich Inlet, Cowichan Valley and Gulf Islands. With nearly 200km of smooth country road to be traversed in two days, it will be just as enlightening as it will be challenging.

As a participant, you will be responsible for raising pledges to support your effort in changing the shape of hospice care in our community.

The Experience

Leaving the drum of the city behind you, oceanic vistas and beautiful country farmland await you on your 100km trip along the Saanich Inlet, through the Cowichan Valley, finishing your first day of riding on picturesque Salt Spring Island.

You’ll spend the evening enjoying a fulfilling meal with good people and live entertainment while immersed in the serenity of the Salt Spring Island landscape  . Your tent will be set-up and ready for your arrivalThere will be hot showers and cold drinks waiting for all the exhausted riders.

After waking up from a well-deserved sleep and enjoying a nourishing breakfast, you’ll begin the 70km ride home covering the rest of Salt Spring Island and the stunning Saanich Peninsula. Complete your journey by arriving home to a welcoming crowd and an amazing feat accomplished.

 

The Route 

day one: victoria, brentwood, cowichan to salt spring

Leaving Victoria’s inner harbour, participants make their way out of the city along the paved Galloping-Goose Regional Trail and through West Saanich out to Bentwood Bay. Crossing the Saanich Inlet by ship, the route follows Cowichan Valley’s rural coastline to Crofton arriving on Salt Spring Island for your overnight experience.

Circuiting the scenic country roads over Salt Spring Island, you make for the Fulford Harbour ferry to Swartz Bay. The ride returns along the Saanich Peninsula through some of Victoria’s most popular cycling routes.
