Hike for Hospice

National Hike logoHike for Hospice is a National annual event established by the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association in 2003. Hundreds of hikes are hosted by local Hospice organizations across the country each year on the first Sunday in May.

Victoria Hospice is proud to be a Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association (CHPCA) Hike for Hospice Palliative Care host site. All revenues generated in the Victoria community remain at the local level and go towards supporting Victoria Hospice.

100% of the funds raised stay in your community!

Victoria Hospice

Victoria Hospice Stacked LogoVictoria Hospice is a registered charity that has, since 1980, provided end-of-life care focused on palliative treatment. Our nurses, counsellors, spiritual caregivers, physicians and trained volunteers provide comfort for the patient and support for the family, rather than a cure for progressive and life-limiting illness.

Care is offered in patients’ homes, within our 18-bed in-patient unit, and as specific medical consultation to patients in other health care facilities. Our trained volunteers provide companionship and support. Victoria Hospice offers bereavement support to families for up to one year following a death.

Almost 50 percent of Victoria Hospice's annual operating costs are funded through community donations. Funds are raised from a variety of sources, including private donations, foundation grants, corporate sponsorships and fundraising events.
