Comox Valley Cyclepaths

Welcome to the Comox Valley Hospice Cyclepaths team page.  We are proud to be cycling this year in support of hospice care in the Comox Valley, and on Vancouver Island.  We are all different, in our ages, in our professions, and in our cycling abilities. The one thing that is the same in all of us is that we are passionate about our support of hospice care in the Comox Valley.  We have all been touched by the amazing, compassionate, respectful care that Comox Valley Hospice provides.  We look forward to being out in the community in the following months doing our best to raise money and create awareness for hospice care in the Comox Valley and on Vancouver Island.

Raida - I will once again be riding in honour of my Dad who spent his final weeks comfortable and cared for under the watchful eye of Comox Valley Hospice at the Views.  I was overwhelmed and humbled by the community support during last years fundraising campaign, and extremely touch by the stories that were shared with me.  I am committed to once again do the best that I can do in the following months.

Amber - My mom who I lost 6 years ago will always be the reason I ride, this is my 4th year riding and I couldn’t be more excited to be part of the comox valley cycle paths

Derek - This will be my 3rd Cycle if life tour, its turned out to be my favourite weekend of the year that supports such a important cause

Debi - After working with last years Cyclepath Team, helping them raise over $40,000 for our Hospice, and being inspired by my 13 year old Daughter, Aby, we are both excited and committed to make this years Cycle of Life tour endeavour an amazing Mother/Daughter experience and we can’t wait to blow last years fundraising total out of the park!!

Corrie - After a few years of contemplating being a participant in the Cyle of Life tour I have come to take the leap after losing my mother in the Spring of 2019. My mom was an active hospice volunteer in Port Alberni and is the person who inspired me to pursue a career in nursing. She is the one who opened my eyes to have care and compassion for those who are nearing life’s end as well as for those who walk alongside. Pushing myself to do the COLT ride will remind me that we all encounter challenging seasons of life and we can team together to bear one another’s burdens with compassion and love.

Juliana - This is my 2nd Cycle of Life Tour and you barely had to say "registration is open" to get me to register again. My brother, only 3 years older than I, was blessed to have his last 3 days of life in a hospice, 4 years ago.  It was such a difficult time for his family, but the relief and support that he and his wife and kids received in the hospice was a sacred gift. As a bonus we get to see our funds raised working RIGHT HERE, as the Valley's new facility is being built RIGHT NOW!!! We get to be part of that!!!! To cycle again for the Comox Valley Hospice Society in the Cycle Of Life Tour with the Cyclepaths fills my heart and feeds my passion for cycling with a purpose. Nothing could feel better to me.
