UPDATE: April 23, 2021

Dear Riders,

What a wild ride the past year has been! It certainly has taught us to roll with patience, compassion and flexibility.

I am writing to let you know that this year's Cycle of Life Tour is going VIRTUAL! With the increase in COVID numbers and the continued uncertainty, it is the best and only option to keep everyone safe.

I know hospice care is important to you and hope you will
join us in riding with all your heart this summer.

As promised, we have some fun challenges coming up for you starting on May 1, with a final virtual ride challenge on July 24.

In light of these challenging times, there is no minimum fundraising requirement. Set a goal that feels right to you, and know every dollar raised makes a difference for patients and families in need of end-of-life care.

If you are a registered riders and paid a registration fee, you automatically qualify for a free limited-edition Cycle of Life Tour jersey. If you registered as a virtual rider, you can purchase a jersey or can qualify for a free jersey by raising $1000+.

Remember, if you raise $2,000 by May 20 (cumulative since 2020), you also qualify for a free pair of shorts!

More information about the July 24 challenge will be available soon, but in the meantime, here is your challenge for May!

Move it in May

Your virtual challenge, starting May 1, is to get on your bike and ride! For every day you log a ride on the Cycle of Life Tour Strava Club, you will automatically be entered to win a prize!

Not on Strava? Strava is easy and fun to use, and all you need is a cell phone, but you can also email info@cycleoflifetour.ca by May 31 to record the total number of days you rode.

What will happen to the funds I have already raised?

The money you raised in 2020 has been carried forward towards your 2021 fundraising goal. However, the actual dollars have already been distributed to each local hospice to provide care and comfort for patients and families in need.

Do I need to register for the Tour again this year?

No, your registration has been carried forward and you are automatically registered in the 2021 Cycle of Life Tour! If you signed up as a virtual rider in 2020, you will be considered a virtual rider again this year. If you would like to be added to the wait-list for the ride on the July 2021 weekend, please call 250-213-9863.

Can I start fundraising for 2021?

Yes! Vancouver Island hospices need your support now more than ever. The fundrasising site is open and your fundraising page will remain the same for 2021. Your 2020 fundraising has been rolled over into this year's goal, so simply set your 2021 goal and start fundraising!

Please ensure you continue to follow all Provincial Health Officer regulations and social distancing protocols with any fundraising events or rides.

How do I submit cash or cheque pledges?

Please mail or drop-off a completed pledge form, along with the payment to Victoria Hospice (address on pledge sheet). Please do not mail cash. If you have cash, please write a cheque to cover the amount and include with a completed pledge form

I have a friend who wants to join the Tour, is there room for them to sign up now?

All our spots for the 2021 weekend ride are currently full, pending plans for 2021, however we have an unlimited number of spots for virtual riders! Virtual riders can join at any time, to any team and are included in training rides and fundraising initiatives but are not eligible to join the group ride weekend in July 2021. If you would like to be added to the wait-list for the 2021 weekend ride, please call 250-213-9863.

What are the plans for this July?

Our team is working on some exciting ideas to ensure this incredible community of riders stays connected and pedaling for hospice care. This year will most likely look different than the traditional event, but our fingers are crossed that we will get to ride together in some way. Please stay connected on social media and Strava!
