Corrie Howard - Cycle of Life Tour
Hi friends, family and anyone else who has happened upon my fundraising page.
The comfort and calm presence that both Hospice volunteers and Hospice care centers provide are why I am committed to fundraise for Vancouver Island Hospices. As a volunteer and as a nurse I have experienced and seen the relief of having extra support for families during what can be a challenging time of one's life. Grief counselling, walking groups, in-home visits and educational resources are also part of what hospice provides.
My inspiration for caring for others comes from my mom who lived a life of compassion and joy. She was an active hospice volunteer for many years in Port Alberni. Sadly my mom passed away two years ago. Losing her has moved me to step up and carry on with her legacy of caring for others through Hospice. My mom would laugh with me knowing that I've committed myself to such a lengthy ride but this is what makes me even more motivated! That being said she was a strong Dutch girl who told stories of biking many miles and miles on the bike paths in Holland.
Would you join me in keeping Vancouver Island Hospice care in motion by donating to my personal page or my Comox Valley "Team Cyclepath" page. There are tax receipts available for donations of $20 or more.
Thank you so much !!
