Cycle of Life 2020
On July 18th & 19 t, I will be riding nearly 200km to raise funds for hospice care on Vancouver Island.
It’s a cause that is close to my heart. Over 11 years ago my husband Tony was faced with a diagnosis of ALS.... it affected our whole family. We didn't even know what hospice provided, why would we,our family was young. The support we received from Nanaimo Community Hospice enabled us to find the strength to continue on, and the support was invaluable to our family. I will be forever greatful for the love and support that I received when I needed it the most. The staff and volunteers at Nanaimo Hospice were amazing and continue to provide much needed support in our community.
4 years ago I was given the opportunity to work at Nanaimo Hospice and I am proud to be a part of the Nanaimo Community Hospice Team. I want to help provide others, who need the support, the availability of free counseling and programs. Just as I received when my world came crashing down.
Vancouver Island hospices provide end-of-life palliative care, counseling, bereavement support, and at-home care to over 12,000 patients and family members each year. Despite the value of their services, none are fully funded by the health care system. The care and comfort they provide is only possible because of generous community support.
The ride is a huge challenge for me as I am not a competitive rider. Myself and a group of friends have begun training as this is 200KM no easy ride. Trust me .....
I’ve promised to raise at least $1000 to help keep Vancouver Island hospice care in motion, but I need your support.
Every donation, no matter what the size, will make a big difference and you will receive a tax-receipt. Simply click on the donate now to make your donation today!
Thank you.
