Welcome to My Personal Page
This is my third year that I will be riding for our Cowichan Hospice. Our Cowichan Hospice opened in October of 2020 with their first patients. Seeing their building virtually, made my heart so full of joy. The Cowichan Hospice Community Services Office is still operating and thank's to people gifts they continue to support people in the community. I will always remember when my dad’s care changed to end of life care in 2019, there was no hospice and his last wishes were not to die in hospital. My mom who was 89 at the time was his main caregiver and I know she worried so much how she was going to handle things, as home care was not 24 hours. For dad, he collapsed at home and was unconscious, but died in hospital a few hours after arrival. I remember he was so happy and proud that I was riding for Hospice and I want to honour that memory.
In September of 2020, I had the misfortune of have two bulging discs that were hitting a nerve as well as a herniated disc. I was actually using a walker for a week, it’s taking me a long time to get over this and even now I must be very careful how I do things.
I had so many amazing people, sponsor me last year, not only financially, but also spiritually and with a caring heart. My grandkids met me at a park half way and brought me water and made a sign, ‘Go Babcia Go’, that filled my heart with joy. I am asking for your support once again to raise at much as possible so we can continue to bring so many worthwhile programs that Cowichan Hospice offers.
I was born and raised here in the Cowichan Valley and love giving back to the community, which has been so good to me. Thank you, and keep well.
