Thanks 2020 COVID and Cycle of Life
When I registered for the 2020 Cycle of Life Tour (COLT) in January, which was to be my sixth, I was looking forward to seeing my friends with whom I have ridden previously and making new friends sharing the work of doing a challenging bicycle ride to raise money for a cause we deeply believe in supporting. When the restrictions of COVID meant that the group ride was cancelled, I was regretful, but OK about doing the newly formatted ride alone or with a very liimited group.
As it has worked out, I have already ridden more than 200 Km in July to be counted as my ride, including the biggest hill I could find (Goldstream Heights, which I think is the highest on southern Vancouve Island at 385 metres above sea level and 9km/hr up and 65 km/hr coming down!).
I am writing this email to let people know that the work of hospice continues and my efforts to support it also continues, and to thank sincerely the folks who have supported me with donations both this year and in the past.
Payments are made to, and receipts issued by Victoria Hospice, but proceeds go to support all the hospices on Vancouver Island including Cowichan, which is my team. Cheers and thanks again, David
